Camp
Ramah in California
|
|
|
For
over 40 years Camp Ramah in California has brought people together
from across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Israel to experience
the wonders of nature, learn from dynamic teachers and specialists,
expand their own creativity, and explore being Jewish. Young people
at Ramah develop leadership skills, lasting friendships, and a Jewish
consciousness that lasts a lifetime.
Ramah
summers are packed with a wide range of activities, including fencing,
karate, Israeli dancing, cooking, tennis, nature, campouts, archery,
aquatics, sign language, arts and crafts, drama, a ropes course,
and much more!
|
|
Jewish
study is another important part of a summer at Ramah. Hebrew is
spoken and learned at camp in a spirit unique to Ramah. Our Hebrew
plays and engaging classes make both Hebrew and Judaism come alive!
Jewish values underlie a concern for each individual and the development
of a spirited and warm community.
Camp
Ramah in California is housed at the Max and Pauline Zimmer Conference
Center of the University of Judaism, located in the lovely hills
of Ojai, California, approximately 90 minutes north of Los Angeles
by car.

with learning disabilities, emotional disorders, mild mental retardation,
and other developmental disabilities. The Tikvah campers are included
